The plans regarding Apple bringing back the SD card reader to the MacBook Pro have not been recent news, but, it seems the Cupertino Giant might replace this possibility with that of adding the HDMI port, at least that is what analyst Ming-Chi-Kuo has to say.
The news about the SD card making a possible return surprised a few readers after Bloomberg had pointed out the chances of a probable return.
However, as per analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the HDMI port seems to be the more practical change for most users, with Apple possibly considering bringing it back.

According to a research note that was obtained by MacRumours, Kuo has a strong belief that the Cupertino giant is planning to bring multiple design changes as well as modifications to two of its MacBooks.
It seems that Kuo is referring to the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models that he had spoken about back in January. The two are likely to see a new flatter design, with the removal of the Touch bar and the return of ports and MagSafe being on the cards.
Furthermore, the report also mentions that the two new models will likely be available in the second half of 2021, with Taiwanese Genesys Logic being the exclusive supplier for the SD Card Reader for the MacBook Pro.
In MacBook related news, another report claims that Apple might launch a 12.9-inch iPad Pro and a certain MacBook with mini-LED panels, with Taiwan based Ennostar being the one to produce these units.
The report also states that production for these units will commence from later this year.
