Cupertino based Apple’s iPhone 11 has been one of the most popular handsets to come out of the company’s rich history and is one that has been praised for the value quotient.
According to a report that has surfaced via GizmoChina, citing data from market research firm Omdia, the iPhone 11 was the most shipped smartphone in 2020.
According to the report, Apple sold approximately 64.8 million units in the entirety of 2020, with the average selling price (ASP) of the 2020 flagship being $754 (approx ₹54,700).
For those of you unaware, the iPhone 11 was launched back in 2019 at a price of $699 (Rs 50,700) for the base model with 64GB of storage.
The second most shipped handset was, to the surprise of no one the iPhone SE (2020) with the device shipping 24.2 million units at an average selling price of $451 (approx ₹32,700). The iPhone 12 has shipped 3.3 million units, at an ASP of Rs 65,000 or $896
On the Android side of things, Samsung’s A51 saw 32.2 million shipments with an ASP of $269 (approx Rs 19,500) whilst the Galaxy A21s saw 19.4 million units being shipped with an ASP of $192 (approx ₹14,000).
Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi was able to ship 15 million units of its budget smartphone Redmi Note 9 Pro, with an ASP of $161 (Rs 11,700). The 10th sport was occupied by the iPhone 12 Mini, with 14.8 million units being shipped at an ASP of $796 (approx ₹57,700).

It is also worth noting that a previous report that was released by Gartner included within it the information that Apple had sold around 79.9 million iPhone models in the last quarter of 2020.
