Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi launched the Mi Watch back in October of 2020. The company is now rolling out an update to the smartwatch that brings support for Amazon Alexa, certain optimisations and multiple bug fixes.
The new firmware update sports the version number v1.2.52, as per a user on Mi Community, which was first reported by Piunika Web Do note that the support for Amazon’s Alexa virtual assistant is currently limited to select regions.
The regions with support are not revealed as of now, so users will have to wait to see whether they can make use of this feature. Post update install, users can check as to whether their Mi Watch now has support for Alexa.
What Other Features Does The Mi Watch Have Post This Update?
Additional changes feature an experimental addition that allows users to control their phone’s camera shutter using the smartwatch. Two new watch faces have also been added as part of this update.
Optimisation fixes include faster wake. Another option to surface with this update is the option to turn on and off auto-pause during workouts. Certain bugs have also been fixed.
For those of you wondering, the Revolve is a minor tweak of the Mi Watch is priced at Rs 9,999 in India as of now. The watch features a 1.3-inch AMOLED panel with support for 117 different exercise modes.
It also comes equipped with six different sensors available for use to the user as well as GPS. Battery life for the watch is quite good, with quotes from the company putting the life at 16 days, post a 2-hour charge.
The wearable also comes with over 100 watch faces, native emojis for notifications, 5ATM water resistance and other features making it a flagship smartwatch from Xiaomi.
